New York Bowhunters, Inc. has several levels of membership, as well as a booster status available within the organization. Because of NYB’s competent leadership over the years, we have only raised our membership dues twice since our inception in 1991. It is very important for the organization to recognize the need to keep membership fees at an affordable level. and to place an emphasis on the youth and supportive levels such as the NYB Booster and Life Members. The Benefactor level of supportive membership in NYB was approved by the membership in 2006. This change allows for those Life and Charter members who want to elevate their commitment within the organization and our promotion of bowhunting.
With membership in the organization as high as 4,000 members, NYB has not only become the largest bowhunting organization in the state but also one of the largest in the country. We are very proud of our members and in the achievements of the organization thus far. Below, please review the various booster and membership levels available within NYB.

Regular - Membership
* Cost - $20 per year, $36 for two (2) years or $52 for three (3) years.
* Includes 4 quarterly issues of “Full Draw” magazine, annual vehicle decal, and membership card.

Life – Membership
* Cost - $400, membership dues may be paid in full or by making ten (10) consecutive $40 monthly installments.
* Includes 4 quarterly issues of “Full Draw” magazine, framed & numbered “Life Member” certificate, embroidered “Life Member” patch, annual vehicle decal, and membership card.

Benefactor – Membership
* Cost - $250 in addition to the $400 Life Membership dues.
* Includes 4 quarterly issues of “Full Draw” magazine, numbered “Benefactor” certificate, annual vehicle decal, membership card and elevated status within the organization.


NYB Booster
* Cost - $30 per year, which includes a listing placed under the Booster section of “Full Draw” magazine. This section is broken up by regions and is typically located on the inside cover of the last page of “Full Draw” magazine.
* Includes 4 quarterly issues of “Full Draw” magazine, special NYB booster decal, a booster certificate, and a supply of NYB applications.
* Opportunity to list your webpage as a link on our website.

Spikes – Membership
* For members under 14 years of age.
* Cost - $10 per year or $300 Lifetime membership which at age 14 turns into a Lifetime Regular Membership of NYB, Inc. $300 may be paid in 10 consecutive $30 monthly installments.
* Includes 3 newsletters, membership card and annual NYB membership sticker.

”Spikes” Shooting Proficiency Program;

This program promotes shooting, practice, and consistency. It is not a competition but an individual award for shooting proficiency and skills. There are 5 different levels of achievement. Instructions are as follows:

1st Award: Draw an 8” circle and from a distance of 10 yards, shoot 4 of 6 consecutive arrows within the circle. Mail in target and you will receive a Certificate.

2nd Award: Draw a 6” circle and from the same 10 yards, shoot 4 of 6 consecutive arrows within the circle. Mail in this target and you will receive a Certificate.

3rd Award: Draw an 8” circle and from the distance of 15 yards, shoot 4 of 6 consecutive arrows within the circle. Mail in the target and you will be sent free NYB merchandise in the mail.

4th Award: Draw a 6” circle and from the 15 yard distance, shoot 4 of 6 consecutive arrows within the circle. Mail in the target and additional NYB merchandise will be sent to you.

5th Award: Draw a 3” circle and from the 15 yard distance, shoot 2 out of 3 consecutive arrows within the circle. You have now earned the Eagle Eye award! Mail in this target and you will receive the Eagle Eye Award patch which you can proudly wear!

CHARTER- Membership
* This level of membership is limited to the original 17 members who formed New York Bowhunters Inc. in 1991.
* Includes 4 quarterly issues of “Full Draw” magazine, annual decal.

FREE CLASSIFIED ADS - As an NYB member, you are entitled to free classifieds in our “Full Draw” magazine. Items should be hunting related and could include archery equipment, land, etc.

E-MAIL ALERTS – Make sure the administrative secretary has your current email address so NYB can send you important alerts and local bow hunting information as necessary.

SWAP HUNTS – Submit to “Full Draw” what you as a member are willing to provide in a hunt and list what you would like in an exchange hunt or put open to suggestions.

BITS & PIECES - New to town and need a place to hunt? Looking for a bowhunting partner? Need a limb for that obsolete bow? Putting a bowhunt together and need extra hunters? These and other topics can be listed in “Full Draw”.

DISCOUNTS - Any member or Booster who is willing to provide a discount on outdoor related items or related activities, i.e. guided or unguided hunts for NYB members. Normally, displaying your NYB membership card would entitle you to the discount.


MEMBER SHOTS - Send your bowhunting photographs in for publication under our MEMBER SHOTS section of “Full Draw”. Photos should be in "Good Taste" with little or no blood showing, tongues tucked inside mouths, no tailgate shots etc. Photos taken in a natural outdoor setting are best, otherwise try and position game so that homes, roads, etc. are not showing in the background.

BOW HUNTING STORIES - Send in your bowhunting or related stories for publication. Stories should be typed, but hand written stories that are legible are fine as well. Don't worry about proper spelling and punctuation as our editors review all submitted material for these items.
